About

Photos, blog posts and artwork from my improvised ramble through life. Just in case you’ve run out of things to read on the internet.

Hi I’m Alex, thanks for checking out my photography page. I’m a 26 year-old photographer and illustrator from the UK. Before that I was a student studying Geography at the University of Cambridge but that is now finished, so I’ve gone back to drawing and cramming anything of interest into my camera’s viewfinder. I’ve worked as a research assistant in rainforest reserves in Malaysia, have done environmental fieldwork in Peru, Tenerife and around the UK and have photographed events professionally. I’m also pretty good at making tea, but let’s move on.

I picked up my first camera in 2007 and now anytime I travel I pretty much photograph everything I can find. Some of it will be put up here, along with illustrations and graphic design by me, and blog posts when I have something vaguely interesting to say (sometimes it happens…). I hope you enjoy whatever this website is and will become!

Camera Gear:

Canon EOS 700D + A collection of lenses I’ve built up over past 5 years or so (18-55mm kit lens, a 10-18mm wide angle Canon lens, a 50mm f/1.8 lens and a pretty weathered 70-300mm Sigma telephoto lens.)

Accolades:
Two photos highly commended in International Garden Photographer of the (IGPOTY) 2011.
